"Dou Zhi Xiang" (荳之鄉) buckwheat tea is a product by Mr Su Rong Chan (蘇榮燦) who is a very experienced farmer, specialized in cultivating and growing various types of grains. He uses environmental friendly approach to grow and harvest the buckwheat and thereafter, baked at low temperatures to make it into buckwheat tea, while keeping the nutrients and aroma of the buckwheat intact.

Mr Su’s buckwheat is Tartary Buckwheat, which is slightly bitter in taste compared to common buckwheat. Such bitter Tartary Buckwheat, because of it glistening brown, is also known as the "Golden Wheat Tea".

Description

Tartary Buckwheat Tea

  • Tartary Buckwheat contains a variety of amino acids and is rich in vitamins. It also contains a substance, Rutin (otherwise known as Vitamin P), which is believed to have antioxidant properties and helps to reduce cholesterol levels.
  • It is an ideal drink after meals as it helps to get rid of the greasiness of the food.
