Organic Pamelo Honey 有机柚子花蜜

• We all know that honey is associated with nutritional benefits and is widely accepted as an important part of the health regimen but there is limited quantity of pure honey out there in the market.

• Mr Chen Jing An (陳敬安), who owns An An Organic Farm (安安農場) and lives in Yilan, uses his 30-year-old grapefruit tree garden as honey base to produce pure, good quality honey.

• Despite the high cost of manpower and reduction in production, Mr Chen insists on using natural ripening and harvesting method to retain the honey mellow and enzymes.

• This natural form of honey extraction keeps the water content in the honey low and at the same time, retains its high nutritional value. Some people believe that good quality honey essentially should have a low water content as honey is likely to ferment and lose its freshness if its water content is too high.

• The yellow amber nectar of the grapefruit, which has the grapefruit scent and slightly acidic taste, is one of the most popular products from An An Organic Farm.

Pamelo Honey 柚子花蜜

• Produced by An An Organic Farm in Taiwan, this honey has a light citron yuzu flavour. This honey is harvested using natural method to maintain the natural enzymes.

Serving recommendation:

1. Mix the honey with water (ratio 1:10) and served as beverage.

2. As bread spread.

Tie Guan Ying BlackTea - 铁观音陈年老茶

"Dou Zhi Xiang" (荳之鄉) buckwheat tea is a product by Mr Su Rong Chan (蘇榮燦) who is a very experienced farmer, specialized in cultivating and growing various types of grains. He uses environmental friendly approach to grow and harvest the buckwheat and thereafter, baked at low temperatures to make it into buckwheat tea, while keeping the nutrients and aroma of the buckwheat intact.

Mr Su’s buckwheat is Tartary Buckwheat, which is slightly bitter in taste compared to common buckwheat. Such bitter Tartary Buckwheat, because of it glistening brown, is also known as the "Golden Wheat Tea".

Tartary Buckwheat Tea

• Tartary Buckwheat contains a variety of amino acids and is rich in vitamins. It also contains a substance, Rutin (otherwise known as Vitamin P), which is believed to have antioxidant properties and helps to reduce cholesterol levels.
• It is an ideal drink after meals as it helps to get rid of the greasiness of the food.
• Each packet of buckwheat tea is the brainchild of Mr Su’s hard work, so we should cherish and savour the drink.

Black Bean Tea

• Black bean tea warms the body and is rich in vitamins and antioxidants which are beneficial to the body. Its protein content is as high as 36% to 40%, which is about 2 times that of meat, 3 times of eggs and 12 times of milk!

Drinking black bean tea helps to lower blood cholesterol and because of the antioxidant elements, it also delays aging and nourishes the skin.

When brewed, the baked black beans exude a very nice tea fragrance and even after several times of brewing, it continues to have mellow taste.

Lai Qing Song (賴青松), a farmer who was featured in the movie "”Beyond Beauty – Taiwan from Above” is dedicated to producing good rice using natural, eco-friendly farming methods. Lai Qing Song studied environmental engineering in Japan and decided to make a mid-career switch, so he moved to Yilan a decade ago and started farming.

• The rice cracker is a collaboration between Lai Qing Song and “Aman Cake” (阿蠻Cake). Aman Cake uses the rice harvested from Lai Qing Song’s paddy field, coupled with Hsinchu Oriental Beauty Matcha powder to produce rice crackers that are filled with rice and tea fragrance.
